A little boy in PJs dancing at the door, peering out and yelling, “It’s gone! Hey! The hay is gone! The carrot is gone!”
A dash to the cookie plate to confirm that only crumbs remain.
A stocking full of toys for Cameron, and another for me with tea and kitchen stuff and other neat stuff.
Yellow stars, white angels, and glittery glass balls newly hung on the tree. Janice’s exclamation when she saw how I’d strung the stars in an unexpected way (I’ll share pictures later).
Pancakes and maple syrup for breakfast.
Cameron took time to play with each toy before being coaxed to move on to the next. He had to do the puzzle, Mommy had to assemble Mac and Lightning from megablocs, he had to find all the neat stuff the helicopter does, and so on.
A wonderful looooong nap in the afternoon, snuggled close with my love.
Christmas dinner with family and friends, good conversation, easy laughter.
Little arms wrapped around my legs in a surprise hug, then Cameron pulling me down for a kiss. “I love you Mama!”
Whatever holiday you celebrate at this time of year, I hope it is filled with love, laughter, warmth, and family. Merry Christmas!
