Why Leaves Fall

Why do you think leaves fall off the trees, Cameron?

Because they have to, Mama.

Really? Why is that?

Well Mama, it’s Fall. And it’s starting to get cold. The roots tell the leaves, “We just can’t feed you any more,” and they say bye-bye. And then the leaves say bye-bye, and the wind blows them off.

And then what?

And then we rake them up,

And we JUMP in them!

We spent the evening in the coolness of our yard, raking leaves while the sun set and the moon rose. We ran, laughed, jumped, and tossed leaves over each other’s heads. Perfect evening!
