The air grew cool as the sun sank low, and the tree’s shadows grew long. Cameron’s gleeful laughter carried up to us where we set up dinner on the picnic tables we’d claimed. He ran around the water park, spraying back and forth with the water guns, darting between geysers, and sending a plastic cup rocketing skyward on a stream of water. Dinner was barbequed burgers, potatoes, and salad, with watermelon for dessert. Classic. Cameron barely sat still to eat, and was gone in a flash to play in the dry playground. Leif and I relaxed, listening and watching, and chatting.
Great way to spend Saturday evening.
