Unless you count the very urban Central Valley Bikeway, Cameron has done very little biking off of roads. Okay, there’s been some on gravelly roads when we’re camping. But not paths through the woods.
Come to think on it … you could say the same about me.
The Suncoaster Trail rises up from Klein Lake (and I do mean up, it was pretty steep for Cameron) along a dirt road, then veers off to meander towards Ruby Lake. We’d been told by the camp host that a few kilometers along the way we’d find a carved gnome, and an incredible scenic view.
We weren’t disappointed!
And Cameron rocked the ‘mountain biking’ experience. I think I’m glad he’s still not keen on hills. But at least there was no whining, and we had a lot of fun.
